Prevent Injuries with CoQ10

A familiar heart-healthy supplement may also benefit athletes. In a small study of elite athletes, Japanese researchers report that CoQ10 helped prevent muscle injuries by lowering levels of creatine kinase and lipid peroxide, markers associated with muscle wear and tear. This adds to evidence that this antioxidant may be a helpful sports nutrition supplement—previous studies show that it helps boost physical performance and reduce feelings of fatigue associated with exercise.
